Good day folks! I’m Oliver Jacob and I’m your Ontario Liberal candidate for Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke in the upcoming February 27th, 2025 provincial election. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to those who I have not had a chance to meet yet.
I was born in Almonte and raised by a single mother in Rural Renfrew County (Horton and Braeside). Starting in my childhood, I’ve always been involved in the community, including with Valley Animal Rescue, Renfrew County Youth Network and the RCDSB Parent Involvement Committee. I went away to Nova Scotia to attend Acadia University where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with double major in Political Science and History but came back to Renfrew County to serve the residents of the Township of McNab/Braeside as one of their elected Councillors from 2018 to 2022.
Professionally, I have worked in municipal administration with the Town of Arnprior and labour market planning with the Labour Market Group of Renfrew and Lanark. I also dedicate much of my free time to serving my community as a board member and volunteer with several community organizations like Arnprior Regional Health, United Way East Ontario and the Arnprior and District Food Bank.
In all of these roles, I have learned the same thing: Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke is a geographically large and diverse community made up of hardworking and dedicated community champions who are always focused on how we can build a better life for our families and future generations. This is exactly why I am running as your Ontario Liberal candidate in this election. I fervently believe that government exists to make a positive impact in peoples’ everyday lives and communities are at their best when they are working collaboratively to build a stronger and more compassionate future for us all. I know that we can do so much more for you and your families whether by getting you a family doctor, lowering your hydro and home heating bills or by making the dream of home ownership much more attainable for all generations.
