Donate

Election campaigns take time and money to be successful and through the generous contributions of local voters, we can win this election and build a better McNab/Braeside for us all. Please note that municipal election contributions are not eligible for income tax receipts.

How to Donate

You can donate to Oliver’s campaign in one of two ways:

  1. In-Person by Cheque / Money Order: If you would like to donate via cheque, please write the cheque out to “Oliver Jacob” and reach out to him by phone at (613) 227-5756 or by email at oliver@voteoliverjacob.ca.
  2. Electronically by Bank E-Transfer: If you would like to donate via e-transfer, please send your transfer to donate@voteoliverjacob.ca and include your full legal name and address in the memo section of the e-transfer. This is to confirm that you receive a receipt for your contribution and to confirm that you are eligible to donate in accordance with the Municipal Elections Act.

Contribution Rules and Limits

In the Province of Ontario, the Municipal Elections Act governs how contributions may be made to municipal candidates during Municipal and School Board Elections.

There is a $1,200.00 limit that applies to contributions to municipal candidates. If a person makes more than one contribution (i.e. contributes money, contributes goods, and purchases a ticket to a fundraising event), the total value of all the contributions cannot exceed $1,200.

The maximum total amount that a contributor can give to candidates running in the Township of McNab/Braeside (all offices) is $5,000.00.

Only a contribution that is $25 or less can be made in cash.

All contributions above $25 must be made by cheque, money order, or by a method that clearly shows where the funds came from (i.e. bank e-transfer).
