I’m Running for Mayor

McNab/Braeside has had a chaotic four years under the failed leadership of current Mayor Lori Hoddinott and former Mayor Mark Mackenzie. Taxes have continued to grow while the community has not seen the core services and capital investments that it needs and expects for the dollars we pay annually in property taxes. Instead, this Council has spent more time fighting among themselves and attacking their staff team, rather than rolling up their sleeves and focusing on building our Township for current and future generations.

I believe that it is time for change across the Council table and that is why I just filed my nomination papers to be your next Mayor of the Township of McNab/Braeside. I am ready to dedicate the next four years to bringing stability to our staff team, rebuilding trust with all parts of our community, providing transparent and accountable leadership to Council, and restoring the community voice back into the decision-making process.

As your former Township Councillor between 2018 and 2022, I know what a privilege it is to be your representative at the Council table and what it takes to do a good job. You deserve a leader who understands the role, cares deeply about the community and is eager to work with, not against, Township ratepayers and residents to build an active community, strong economy and innovative municipality with an eye to always improving what we can offer for our residents.

Over the next six months, I look forward to working to earn your trust and support by sharing more about what I care about and by talking with you at community events, local businesses and on your doorsteps. Let’s bring some real change to the Township and get back to the hard work of building McNab/Braeside for all Township residents!

Sincerely!

OJ
